India and Russia have shared a long history of associations in various fields ranging from ideologies
to military and technological cooperation. Teaching and learning of Indian languages in Russia as well
as teaching and learning of Russian in India also go back several decades.
The International Young Researchers’ Seminar will serve as a platform to discuss the new challenges
and prospects in the study of Russian and Indian Languages in our countries. Given the development
and integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the learning process, it is imperative
to find answers to important questions: What is the motivation behind learning a foreign language?
How do the students view foreign language learning? Do the learners engage in learning a foreign
language in order to increase their cultural capital or is their choice determined by the career prospects?
Young scholars from Indian and Russian Universities who are carrying out research in the field of
Russian Studies (Russian as Foreign Language) and Indology are invited to share their thoughts on the
following themes:
▪ Language changes: new processes and trends
▪ Contemporary and Classical Literature
▪ Comparative Studies in Linguistics, Literature and Translation
Intercultural Communication
▪ Comparative Folklore
▪ Teaching-Learning of Russian / Indian Languages, the motivation, composition of the
classroom, AI and other technological devices and their application in the classroom
▪ Cultural engagement in the areas of cinema, popular culture, tourism, newspaper, media and
television
▪ Interdisciplinary studies and use of Russian/Indian languages
▪ Translation and reception of translated artifacts (Literature, subtitled movies, subtitled
television programmes, YouTube content)
▪ Historical roots of Indo- Russian relations
▪ Philosophical traditions of India and Russia
▪ Portrayal of Russia in Indian Literature
▪ Portrayal of India in Russian Literature
▪ Strategic partnership between India and Russia in the 21st century
