Russian State University for the Humanities and India's North-Eastern Hill University Agree to Develop Academic and Scientific Cooperation
On May 29, a meeting was held at the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) to discuss the prospects for Russian-Indian cooperation in education, science, and academic exchanges.
Deputy Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of RSUH Professor Vera Zabotkina met with Professor Sudhanshu Jangir, Director of the Indian Institute for Sustainable Development at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU).
During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for academic exchanges, joint scientific research, and educational programs. As a result of the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached to develop and sign a Memorandum of Understanding to formalize bilateral cooperation.
Also present for the Russian side were:
- Ms. Olga Trofimova, Director of the Department for International Cooperation;
- Dr. Mariia Gordeeva, Head of the Chair of Culture of Peace and Democracy at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, Institute of Eurasian and Oriental Studies;
- Dr. Alexander Akramov, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality;
- Prof. Alexander Stolyarov, Director of the University International Center for South Asian Studies;
- Dr. Indira Gazieva, Associate Professor at the Chair of Oriental Languagesof the Institute of luinguistics.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed key areas for future cooperation:
- Joint educational programs: development and implementation of courses for students of both universities.
- Scientific events: organization of conferences, seminars, and round tables.
- Academic exchanges: development of programs for students and faculty.
- Language and culture: cooperation in the field of teaching the Russian language and intercultural communication.
