During the meeting, the participants reached a number of agreements:
It was decided to create a working group on the issue of mutual recognition of qualifications.
The Russia’s ideas to strengthen joint work to improve eco-climate literacy, including in terms of launching international environmental and climate monitoring programs for students from the BRICS countries were fundamentally supported.
The partners also supported the idea of increasing interaction between universities and cultural institutions of the BRICS countries. Russia is ensuring the development of conceptual documents for holding a pilot BRICS International Olympiad, which will open up new opportunities for supporting talented youth.
To ensure a fair assessment of universities in the BRICS countries, the issue of creating a system for ranking and evaluating universities was brought up for discussion. The heads of the delegations supported the initiative to hold a series of thematic experts seminars for consideration of possible principles and mechanisms for organizing such activities. The first results of the work are planned to be presented in October this year at the Forum of Rectors of the BRICS Countries.
Following the meeting, the participants signed the Declaration of the 11th Meeting of the BRICS Ministers on Education.
