The relevance of the program is determined, on the one hand, by the need to competently solve the problems related to psychological and pedagogical support of the students of preschool, general, additional and professional education (in terms of facilitating the optimization of the educational process, introducing innovative teaching technologies, designing individual strategies, as well as implementing developmental, preventive programs).
On the other hand, educational institutions in Russia require specialists with a high level of psychological preparation, able to detect early the defects and deviations in development, determine individual psychological characteristics and educational route of a child with disabilities (in the field of special and inclusive education), provide psychological and pedagogical support of professional growth of persons with disabilities.
Today, when the model of "cultural development" is in great demand in international practice, but is still at the stage of its formation, a significant contribution to its promotion is made by the Vygotsky Institute’s academic school of cultural-historical psychology.
