Foreign philology (Slavic and Central European studies)

Slavic studies as a combination of courses of languages, literature, culture and history of Slavic peoples has traditionally been well represented in Russia. At RSUH, in contrast to the departments of Slavic philology or the history of Western and Southern Slavs in other Russian universities, integrated interdisciplinary studies and corresponding courses are put to the educational forefront, and are designed to provide a comprehensive study of countries and areas of the Slavic world in their relationships with the closest European neighbors. The Department of Slavic Studies and Central European Studies of the Institute maintains close academic contacts with Slavic centers at the leading universities in the Czech Republic, Poland, Croatia, Austria and Germany, where our students routinely intern.
