The program is offered at the Faculty of Journalism of the Institute of Mass Media.
The growing self-awareness of the society is increasingly turning to the past, trying to find the sources of today's events in it, and striving to recognize the modern historical period as a link in the continuous chain of historical development of Russia.
Here the media play a key role: mass information related to history and transmitted through various media channels is key in shaping Russia's image in the eyes of its own citizens. Broadcasts and news on historical and cultural topics, talk shows, articles in newspaper and online media are in demand by the society.
However, the presenters of these programs are often incompetent in the fields that they cover. As a result, an involuntary deception takes place: stereotypes are formed that do not correspond to the real course of historical events, which leads to an incorrect view of the current state of Russian society. Thus, the social role of our program is to train qualified journalists and publicists, who will be able to navigate the complex problems of Russian history and culture and form a positive image of Russia in the public mind, thus contributing to building a civil society in Russia.
