The program teaches to manage documentation and documentary heritage of various periods of Russian history with an emphasis on modern phenomena related to the implementation of information technologies and their impact on the formation of the documentary heritage of the Russian Federation.
An important place in the education process is reserved to the analysis of the problematic issues of modern management of documentation and documentary heritage (based on a generalization of practical activities) that inevitably arise in any modernization process.
The uniqueness of the program is manifested by the fact that it comprehensively studies the phenomenon of the document as a unique intellectual product of human life activity, combining the ability to participate in the organization of this life activity, to store the information about it and to transmit it as documentary memory.
Types of occupation: research, organization and management, project-oriented activity.
The program combines documentary, archival, archaeographic and source-related disciplines in a single unit of knowledge about the document as a civilizational phenomenon.
Areas of occupation: state executive bodies (archives and records), state and municipal archives, archives of the RAS and branch institutions, manuscript departments of museums and libraries, mass media, public organizations, and research institutes, expert and analytical centers, educational organizations, other organizations of various legal status.
Ph.D. studies comprise the following tracks: “Documentation activities, records management, archival Studies”; "Historiography, source study and methods of historical research" and others.
