Mathematical Methods and Models of Information Processing and Protection in Sociotechnical Systems

The educational program is implemented at the Institute of Information Sciences and Security Technologies at the College of Information Systems and Security by the Department of Fundamental and Applied Mathematics.

This program belongs to the second educational level of higher education. The educational program is relevant, since the problem of analyzing the development of socio-technical systems largely determines the boundary and the relationship between humanitarian knowledge and mathematics with its applications. The history of socio-technical systems studies during the twentieth century shows that the mathematical apparatus is the most effective in borderline problems between the humanities and the natural sciences. The training course for master's degrees in mathematics courses in the most advanced branches of mathematics and humanities are taught, for example: functional analysis and its applications in socio-systems, modern programming problems, finite fields and cryptography (special course), p-adic analysis and its applications to cryptography, quantum computing and cryptography as well as a number of special disciplines related to the study of socio-technical systems.

Types of professional activity: system analyst, engineer-mathematician, specialist for management of socio-technical systems.

Areas of professional activity. As it is shown by many years of practice, graduates of our department with a corresponding direction are in demand in various well-known commercial firms YANDEX, AEROFLOT, NPO “ENERGIA”, in government departments and academic institutes, for example: Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics RAS, Vavilov Institute of the History of Natural Science and Technology etc.

It is possible to continue training in graduate school in the chosen specialization for conducting scientific research in the direction 04/01/04 - Applied Mathematics.
