This is a unique educational program: it is aimed at mastering the research skills in the field of theoretical and applied museology with a broad vision of the dynamics of the development of the museum industry. Particular emphasis is placed on the formation of skills to ensure the organization of safety of museum objects and collections, as well as their study and interpretation at the contemporary academic level.

Key disciplines: “Museum in the 21st century: philosophy, history, contemporary realities”, “Study of museum audience in Russian and internationally”, “Strategies for representing museums in the virtual space”, “Authentication of material culture objects”, “Object in the context of culture”.
Great opportunities for students are provided by the sociocultural environment of RSUH, that is, collections of the Tsvetaev Museum Center (part of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts) of RSUH, which hosts numerous art exhibitions; international educational and academic centers.
Students participate in national and international conferences, round tables, seminars, schools.
Graduates work in museums and museum-type institutions in the field of study, recording and storage of museum items and collections; as tour guides; create and implement cultural, educational and academic programs.
Graduates can also work in the implementation of the state cultural policy in the field of museum affairs and the protection of cultural heritage objects; in the field of museum management they are involved in development and implementation of programs for the protection, use and popularization of cultural and natural heritage sites.
Ph.D. studies comprise track 24.00.03 Museology, preservation and restoration of historical and cultural objects.
