The program is offered at the Institute of History and Archives, the Faculty of Archival Affairs, (Department of History and the Organization of Archival Affairs).
The program is designed to make up for an acute shortage of qualified specialists in the latest information technologies employed in the process of documenting all areas of society, especially religious public organizations, the documents of which are stored in museums, libraries and archives. The program is unique in the system of higher education in Russia. Many years of teaching and research by the faculty members of the Institute of History and Archives (including academics of international renown) allows for an excellent education in the program.

Areas of occupation: institutions and organizations of the Russian Orthodox Church, general educational organizations of the Russian Orthodox Church, professional educational organizations and educational organizations of higher education, specialized scientific institutes, archives, museums, other organizations and cultural institutions, the media, state authorities and local governments, tourism, etc.
Ph.D. studies comprise the following tracks: 46.06.01 Historical sciences and archeology; 47.06.01 Philosophy, ethics and religious studies; 50.06.01 Art criticism; 51.06.01 Culturology, etc.
