The program is offered at the Faculty of History, Political Science and Law of the Institute of History and Archives by the Knorozov Center for Mesoamerican Studies.
An important educational aspect at RSUH is support and development of unique academic and pedagogical schools in the field of historical research, one of which has been the school for the study of ancient civilizations of the pre-Columbian America, founded by Dr. Knorozov (1922–1999), who had deciphered the Mayan hieroglyphic writing. Currently, this program is unique in Russia and one of the few of this kind in Europe. It is focused on Latin American studies.
