The course introduces basics of general phonetics and phonology, as well as phonetical and phonological specifics of English phonemes, syllables, accent, etc. The notion of the orthoepic norm is analysed through comparison of regional and national variants of the English language. The course focuses on the correlation between theoretical notions and practical learning of English. Lectures and tutorials are supported with handouts. Academic progress is tested orally and via Google.Forms tests.
