Russia in the global economy and international finance

The purpose of the discipline: to provide students with the necessary training in understanding Russia's place in the world economy, its interaction with the world economy, to form a basic level of economic knowledge necessary to understand the most important processes and phenomena occurring in Russia as part of the world economy, to instill a culture of economic thinking, to teach the basics of comparative economic analysis, to use the conclusions obtained as a result of the analysis for making economic and managerial decisions.

Tasks of the discipline:

  • to consider the formation of a modern economic model of Russia in the framework of its interaction with the world economy;
  • to reveal the mechanisms of influence on the Russian economy within the framework of its obligations to international financial and trade organizations;
  • to provide factual knowledge about Russia's place in the world commodity markets;
  • to reveal the prospects for the development of Russia's foreign economic complex, its integration into the world economy in the near future.
  • According to the results of mastering the discipline, students will:

To know:

  • be prepared to understand at a professional level the formation and development of the modern economic model of Russia as a reflection of the features of its integration into the world economy, to identify the most important and stable trends in the dynamics of the development of the foreign economic complex of Russia and to predict the future;
  • have basic knowledge of Russia's place in the world commodity markets;
  • have the skills to work with economic information from various sources, including in foreign languages, to solve professional and social problems;

Be able to:

  • based on the description of economic processes and phenomena to build standard theoretical and econometric models, analyze and interpret the results in a meaningful way;
  • analyze and interpret the data of domestic and foreign statistics on socio-economic processes and phenomena, identify trends in socio-economic indicators.

Own:

  • the ability to prepare an information review and/or analytical report based on domestic and foreign sources of information;
  • the ability to prepare analytical materials, including in a foreign language, on the problems of the world economy using the skills and methods acquired in the learning process.
