This course develops understanding of diachronic studies of languages and cultures, demonstrates interconnection between language history and country’s history, shows equal importance of various tongues in the world, presents diverse language and translation difficulties (vital for future profession) and ways to deal with them, describes the place and role of English among other Germanic languages, acquaints with most important literary works.
