Yuri Norshtein is People's Artist of the Russian Federation, outstanding animator, creator of "The Tale of Tales" and "Hedgehog in the Fog".
On April 27, as part of a series of open lectures organized by the Vygotsky Institute of Psychology, a lecture “From Gogol to Fedotov. Poetry and Psychiatry” was read by Yuri Norshtein. He spoke about Nikolai Gogol, whose work he had been captivated by for many years, especially “The Overcoat”.
Mr. Norshtein also shared his attitude towards the work of the "Gogol of Painting", Pavel Fedotov. These two creators, who worked in completely different areas, have one common feature: there is not a single superfluous detail in their work, each one complementing the overall impression, defining the situation and the characters.
Yuri Borisovich showed the audience the connection between different forms of creativity (poetry, painting, cinema) and psychiatry.
