On October 22, as part of the Days of Student Science of RSUH - 2021, the Fifth All-Russian Conference of Students "Historical Science of Tomorrow" was held at the Faculty of History of the Institute of History and Archives.

Professor Elena Barysheva addressed the participants and guests with a welcoming speech noting the importance of the development of research by young scholars, since it is they who would become leaders in their fields of knowledge, thereby ensuring the continuity in one of the most complex spheres of modern society.

Conference Secretary, Dr. Pavel Alipov, expressed satisfaction with the fact that the number of participants had been increasing every year, regardless of any external circumstances. He emphasized that each time the participants saw returning scholars presenting at the Conference, thereby testifying to its relevance and increasing status.

In the section "Current issues of national and world history" a wide range of specific historical issues covering a significant chronological and thematic range was discussed: from the history of ancient Mesoamerica and medieval Byzantium to the history of the USSR and contemporary Russia. A separate section, "Source studies, historiography and history of memory", hosted presentations of a theoretical nature.

The organizers noted that it was gratifying to see that the issues of theory and methodology of historical knowledge were of increasing interest among the participants, which indicated the depth of the research ideas of young historians and their desire to master new research horizons.

The conference, which brought together over forty participants from Moscow universities (RSUH, MSU, HSE, Financial University under the Government of the RF), St. Petersburg (St. Petersburg State University), Nizhny Novgorod (Lobachevsky University), Lipetsk (State Pedagogical University), made it possible to combine the efforts of undergraduate and graduate students, the hope of the historical science of Russia.
