"The most important thing in Student Autumn is not the results, but the fact that this competition unites us all. And no matter how many years pass, we will keep meeting in room 227 and remembering how good it was,” says Maria Glazova, Head of the Department for Support and Implementation of Student Initiatives of the Department of Work with Youth.
On December 6, the final of the competition “Student Autumn of RSUH 2024” took place. It is a traditional event for first-year students, in which they can show their creativity, acting talents and make new acquaintances.
At the beginning of September, a team of students is assembled from each faculty, who prepare competition numbers for several months and show their ideas and developments to the event organizers every week. This year, the finalists were: Faculty of Journalism, Faculty of Sociology, Department of Intelligent Systems in the Humanities, Faculty of International Relations, Institute of Philology and History, and Faculty of Information Systems and Security.
The participating teams competed with each other in three events. The first one was “Business Card”, a sketch that introduced the team or its faculty.
The next competition was "Catwalk", in which students showed thematic costumes.
The final competition was "Creative Performance", which involved a dance or song performance.
In September, each team was assigned curators, usually the participants of the previous seasons of the Festival. The curators helped freshmen prepare their performances and supported them throughout the competition.
The final of Student Autumn was the culmination of all the efforts of the participants, curators and organizers. The team of the Faculty of Journalism won the competition by a margin of several points. The silver medal went to the Faculty of Information Systems and Security, and bronze to the Faculty of Sociology.
Student Autumn has been held at RSUH for over 15 years, and is organized by the Department of Work with Youth.
