On the 20th of January, 2007 the rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities Efim I. Pivovar visited the Ruhr University in Bochum (Germany).
On the 20th of January, 2007 the rector of the Russian State University for the Humanities Efim I. Pivovar visited the Ruhr University in Bochum (Germany). Efim I. Pivovar as the guest of honor presented at the solemn ceremony of the assumption of the command of the new rector of the Ruhr University in Bochum, Professor Elmar Vailer.
Also the rector of the RSUH met the executive secretary of the University of the Russian and soviet culture named after M.Y. Lotman of the Ruhr University in Bochum, chairman of board of directors of the Claus Vashik Institute for the European cultures (IEC). E.I. Pivovar and C. Vashik carried on negotiations about the perspectives of the cooperation between two Universities. During the negotiations both parties signified satisfaction by the results of the cooperation and hope for the successful interaction in the scientific-educational sphere.
The RSUH and the Ruhr University in Bochum are connected by close contacts for more than ten years. In 1995 Russian and German Universities in association with the highest school of social researches (France) created the Institute for the European cultures on the RSUH’s basis. The representatives of the Ruhr University in Bochum visited the RSUH many times, came with the lectures, conducted seminars and master-classes.
Our university supports close contacts with many educational institutions of Germany. In the number of the RSUH’s partners, besides the Ruhr University in Bochum, the ministry of the Earth Northern Rhine-Westphalia, the German service of the academic exchanges (DAAD), the University of Gumboldt (Berlin), the Universities of Constants, Erfurt, Hagen, Witten-Herdeke, Leipzig, Dresden and the other are included in.
The present visit of Efim I. Pivovar to the Ruhr University in Bochum illustrated the interest of both parties in the further widening of the cooperation in the sphere of science, education and culture, and also became the regular step on the way to the strengthening of the connections of the RSUH with the German scientific and educational structures in whole.
