RSUH Hosted a Meeting with a Delegation from Qinghai Minzu University

RSUH continues to expand its cooperation agreements with universities in the People's Republic of China.

On February 20, Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Vera Zabotkina met with a delegation from Qinghai Minzu University to discuss prospects for collaboration, academic exchanges, and joint research in history, languages, and culture. Also attending were Dean of the Faculty of Sociology Roman Anisimov, Director of the International Cooperation Department Olga Trofimova, Head of the Department of Eastern Languages Maria Rukodelnikova, Director of Confucius Institute Taras Ivchenko, and interpreter Vera Malaya.

"We are confident that the two universities with such rich histories, and so much in common, will undoubtedly find areas of mutual interest," noted Zhang Haiyun, Dean of the Faculty of International Education at Qinghai Minzu University.

Both sides identified sociology, anthropology, languages, and literature as primary fields for cooperation. RSUH proposed joint research on labor sociology, inspired by China’s impressive economic growth and workforce productivity.

The potential collaboration includes studying labor motivation, mobility, and workplace values in both countries, conducting comparative analyses, applying for joint research grants, and publishing findings in the Scopus database.

The Chinese delegation proposed cooperation in language studies and development of joint educational programs between the Faculties of Sociology of RSUH and Qinghai Minzu University. They also suggested establishing academic mobility programs and internship opportunities.

"There is a theory of gentle nudging, and I would like to nudge us toward signing this agreement," Dr. Zabotkina remarked at the end of the negotiations, emphasizing the vast potential for collaboration between RSUH and Qinghai Minzu University.

All proposals received positive feedback, and the universities will soon begin formalizing the cooperation agreement.
