The winners of the 21st All-Russian competition "My Country - My Russia" for schoolchildren under 18 announced in Moscow

On December 20, the winners of the 21st season of the competition "My Country - My Russia", a project of the presidential platform "Russia – the Land of Opportunities", were announced. More than 50 thousand people sent their initiatives to participate in the 21st season. 130 participants under 18 years of age reached the final stage of the competition, and 36 authors of the best projects aimed at the socio-economic development of Russian territories received prizes.

Every year, children from 14 years of age take part in 12 nominations and present their ideas and solutions to socio-economic issues. In total, 55,321 people from all regions of Russia and nine foreign countries presented their initiatives in the 21st season. 21,022 people were under 18 years of age.

130 participants made it to the final stage. This year, the qualification committee consisted of 2,970 specialists from the fields of education, science, medicine, business, pedagogy, and tourism.

The partners and organizers of the project took part in the summing up of the results. The project “My Country – My Russia” has been a part of the ecosystem of the presidential platform “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” for the sixth year now with more than 400 thousand people from all regions of Russia having taken part in the Competition.

"In 2024, more than 50 thousand people joined the Competition. The winners among the 130 finalists are residents of 22 regions. The platform “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” pays great attention to the post-competition support. An educational program will be organized especially for the finalists of 2024 in 2025 at the All-Russian Children's Center "Ocean". They will acquire new competencies, learn the project-oriented thinking, work in teams and learn to present their initiatives", said Alexei Agafonov, First Deputy General Director of "Russia – the Land of Opportunities".

The participants' works were evaluated by three thousand experts from all regions of the country. Special attention is paid to the examination and applicants undergo a thorough selection process.

Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, said:

"The Сcompetition continues to discover new talents. Its participants are young and ambitious people with an active civic position and a desire to make the world a better place. Our task is to provide them with such an opportunity and show that this opportunity is available to everyone, regardless of place of residence, age and profession. One of the key partners of the Competition is the Russian Academy of Education.

Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Zhanna Sadovnikova shared:

"In cooperation with the Competition, one of the most popular nominations, "My Pedagogical Initiative", is implemented annually: more than 17,000 people participate in it. This year, the winners were representatives of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Rostov Region and the city of St. Petersburg!"

On behalf of the movement “Dvizhenie Pervykh”, the winners were congratulated by Sonya Pogosyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of the movement:

"This year, as part of the Competition, with the support of “Dvizhenie Pervykh”, a special children's nomination "Magic Threads of Genealogy" was held. It is aimed at preserving family, traditional values, stories of Russian families, the memory of generations regarding the important events that make up the history of our country. The youngest children participated in this nomination, 2978 people from all over the country. And the works of the 102 winners will be included in the printed collection "Magic Threads of Genealogy", which will bring together the living stories of mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers of our children."

The winners of the second age category were announced at the Mashuk Knowledge Center.

"For the first time, the award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian competition "My Country - My Russia" was held at the Mashuk Knowledge Center. This is an important event, since the competition unites, among other things, innovating teachers from all over the country, who offer advanced solutions for modernizing the education system in different regions, cities and villages,” said Anton Serikov, General Director of the Mashuk Knowledge Center, Deputy General Director of “Znanie”.

The All-Russian competition “My Country – My Russia” was born in 2003 in the city of Ryazan on the initiative of students. Today, the project is known throughout the country; over 21 years, more than one million people have taken part in it. Dmitry Turlakov, Head of the Executive Directorate of “My Country – My Russia”, said:

“This season, the Competition was given great support from the heads of the regions of our country. We received feedback about the start of the season from the governors of almost all regions, and more than 30 heads of regions sent letters of welcome for the current participants!”

All participants of the final stage of the Competition will have the opportunity to go on a tourist trip under the program "More than a trip", developed by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) within the framework of the federal project "Increasing availability of tourist products" of the national project "Tourism and the hospitality industry". 36 winners of the Competition will go for 21 days to the All-Russian Children's Center "Ocean" in Vladivostok, where an educational program will be organized for them.
