On the 28th of June the VIII International on-line forum of educational technologies "Smart Space of Education Today & Tomorrow" took place in the Russian State University for the Humanities.
On the 28th of June the VIII International on-line forum of educational technologies "Smart Space of Education Today & Tomorrow" took place in the Russian State University for the Humanities. The forum presented the newest decisions in the field of informational, communication, interactive and audiovisual technologies for educational processes. It was carried out in the on-line mode owing to the system of the personal voting by every member with using the Turning Point system. The 8th time this forum is realized by genre as the science-educational - Hi-Tech Show. Forum's members could hear musical compositions, performed by soloist Olesya Rostovskaya with electronic instrument "termenvox", accompanied by the Laptop orchestra by Andrey Smirnov.
The rector of the RSUH, Efim I. Pivovar opened the action. He noted that the RSUH was the original experimental area of Russian education in the field of the newest technologies use today. The rector established that the development of new technologies and their application to the teaching system and scientific effort opened a quantity of new possibilities for students and instructors, but they weren't accessible to the previous generations.
The director of The Institute for new educational technologies of the RSUH Sergey V. Kuvshinov dwelt in his speech on the educational tasks facing teachers in XXI century. Today's students are taught to extract information from the modern resource, to systematize it and present correctly, to work with multimedia sources. However along with such important tasks in the professional attitude Sergey V. Kuvshinov pronounced communication as an extremely significant experience, which insensibly weakens in conditions of Internet development. He stressed the special role of engineering research methods of education in the affair of solving no so small importance problem.
Heads of regional informatization centers, representatives of innovation Institutes of winners with the priority national project "Education", and representatives of "Millionnik-Schools", vocational rehabilitation centers for educational members, leader experts of the Russian Education, teachers and professors from many Russian cities were among invitees at this action. There were about 200 persons on the forum.
During the work, all members were shown the newest decisions of computer, communication, projecting, presentation and audio-visual technologies in education of the leading IT-companies: Panasonic, Sony, SMART Technologies Inc., Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V., Intel, CC "Polymedia" and others.
16 professors' masterclasses were realized in the unique complex in Russia, which consists of multilogic multimedia auditoriums of the RSUH. The professors shown how many of the presented on the forum technologies novelty could be used for teaching humanitarian disciplines by intense methods.Besides, facilities of the multilogic computer language room, net broadcasting studio, multimedia videocomputer room, "Virtual ink" room, videocomputer rear projection room and "Visionarium" were demonstrated and problems of the education by new Hi-tech resources: "smart"-technologies, mobile devices, compact wireless presentation device were discussed there.
The resume of the All-Russian competition for the best video installation about an interactive study with the use of interactive SMART technologies were summed up on the forum. That competition was conducted within the limits of the International competition at the best video in honour of the International Teacher’s Day. The aim of the competition is to attract attention of the broad community and state organizations to the progress of teachers, professors and pupils, which efficiency use interactive SMART devices in the educational process. The competition’s organizers and jury were the following: Polymedia Company – the leading supplier of integrated solutions for the education, it's the unique distributor of interactive SMART devises in Russia; SMART Technologies Inc. Company – is the pioneer and the international leader in the produce of interactive devices; magazines: "Leaders of the Education", "The Teacher's paper", "Kommersant", "PC week".
The prize for the 1st place was the journey into the annual international exhibition of educational technologies BETT-2008, that will be hold from 9 till 12 of January 2008 in London. It was fallen to the SEI №10, Novosibirsk city. Among the winners are: the Creation centre "Fastrackids" Saint-Petersburg, School-complex №548 Moscow, Gymnasium №1518 Moscow, Educational centre "Constellation" Perm. The winners' video installations of the All-Russian stage of the competition will be presented at the International Competition in July 2007.
The VIII international interactive forum of the educational technologies was effective for members to mark out the main features which distinguish today's students of the age of mobile communication and multimedia technologies, to formulate primary tasks and problems with which educational institution are confronted, to determine which changes the development of technologies demands from the educational process.
