On June 2, 2023, in the Meeting Hall of the Academic Council of RSUH, the opening ceremony of the First Russian-Belarusian Forum of Historians took place, at which more than a hundred academics discussed issues of cultural interaction between our countries and the creation of a unified research environment.
The Forum was opened by Dr. Gagkuev, Acting Chairman of the Board of the Russian Historical Society, Executive Director of the History of the Fatherland Foundation. He named the priority tasks of the event: strengthening cooperation between researchers from the two countries and discussing topical issues of the joint history of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. Rector Bezborodov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech and spoke about the interaction of RSUH with the Republic of Belarus on internships and work placements, noting the relevance of this vector of cooperation.
“Our relations are truly allied, strategic in nature, the spiritual ties and spiritual unity of our peoples are based on a solid foundation of a common culture, universal values, the inseparability of our historical destinies,” said Dr. Sergey Naryshkin, Chairman of the Russian Historical Society.
Dr. Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Education, emphasized that in modern geopolitical conditions, the centuries-old fraternal ties of the two states were reaching a qualitatively new level of integration construction of the Union State.
