On the 10th of July the delegation of the Committee for Education, Scientific researches and assessment of technologies in Bundestag, FRG, visited the Russian State University for Humanities.
On the 10th of July the delegation of the Committee for Education, Scientific researches and assessment of technologies in Bundestag, FRG, visited the Russian State University for Humanities. It consisted of the following deputies: Korneliya Piper (the head of the delegation), Ilze Aigner, Mikhael Kretchmer, Sven Shults, Tomas Oppenmann, Folker Shnaider, Krista Zater, director of the Secretariat of Andreas Mayer's Committee, and also Adviser, director of the science, environmental protection and nuclear safety department of German Embassy in Moscow – doctor Uve Mayer and trainee of German Embassy in Moscow – Marionka Pol. Rector of the RSUH, Efim I. Pivovar, vice-rector for research, Dmitry P. Bak, director of the Institute for history and archives, Alexander B. Bezborodov, director of the Institute for economics, management and law, Nadezgda I. Arkhipova, director of the Institute for philology and history (IPH), Pavel P. Shkarenkov, deputy director of "Higher school for European cultures" (HSEC), Valeria Y. Kudryavtseva, chair of the German philology department (IPH), Dirk Kemper, co-director of the Russian-German center for education and research Natalia V. Rostislavleva met with the delegation.
Greeting the guests, Efim I. Pivovar noticed, that the cooperation with FRG in the field of education and science was the one of the key direction in the international activity of the University; that was stipulated by the common increase of an interest to Germany in Russia, expansion of economical and cultural relations between two counties. The RSUH has strong relations, realizes joint projects with a number of famous German universities, including Gumbold University in Berlin, Rursk University in Bokhum, the University of Konstantz, the University of Freiburg and others. The representatives of the RSUH are the members of bipartite commissions. In particular, the rector of the RSUH takes part in a work of historians from the Russian-German commission which functioned by the patronage of RF and FRG's Chancellor. The university gives a great attention to teaching of the German language, history and culture. A work in this direction is conducted as in special structures: in the Russian-German science-based center, in the German philology department (IPH), (HSEC) and in the framework of other departments. There are some events in the near perspective: creation of new center for Germanic studies based on the Department of German philology, implementation of new joint master programs with German University-partners, stipulating education both in Russia and in Germany.
Korneliya Piper thanked the RSUH for the hearty welcome and given opportunity to acquaint with a work of one of the biggest educational center in Russia. German guests put some questions, concerning the development of humanitarian education in Russia in whole and particularly in the RSUH. Answering the question about the place of humanitarian knowledge in Russian educational system, Efim I. Pivovar accentuate that educational community realized the great importance of humanitarian knowledge and its influence on social environment.
Representatives from the German delegation were interested in the teaching methodology in the RSUH. The rector noticed, that the usage of the interdisciplinary approach in the education and research activity is as the key approach for the University; in the network of the approach the work at the joint of natural-science and humanitarian knowledge are given particular attention. In whole there is training at 96 programs in the RSUH.
Deputies from Bundestag interested in questions of the RSUH's financing. Efim I. Pivovar accentuated that our University is the State University, so state financing has recently increased. It's concerned both financing and support by use of implementation of the national projects system. At the same time the University works for the development of the off-budget directions of financing. In conclusion of the meeting German guests were presented with souvenirs.
