Meeting of the basic organizations of the CIS states on liberal arts cooperation and Slavic universities in the CIS countries

On November 26, 2024, RSUH hosted a meeting of the basic organizations of the Commonwealth of Independent States onthe topic “Promising areas of interaction between the basic organizations of the CIS in the areas of university liberal artscooperation and Slavic universities in the CIS member states”.

The meeting was organized by the Institute of Eurasian and Interregional Studies and the office of the Academic Directorof RSUH with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.

The meeting was attended by representatives of leading universities in Russia and Belarus operating in the areas of university liberal arts cooperation, and by representatives of Slavic universities in Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The meeting was chaired by the Head of the basic organization for training personnel in the field of historical education of the CIS, Dr. Pivovar. He outlined the main results of the work of the new format of the interuniversityinteraction, that is, coordination meetings of the basic organizations in the areas of university liberal arts cooperation. Dr. Pivovar paid special attention to promising areas of activity, namely, the participation of basic organizations and Slavic universities in the preparation for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, the development and publication of regional studies, and the preparation of advanced training courses.

Rector of the Moscow State Linguistic University Dr. Kraevaspoke about the activities of MSLU, especially emphasizing the work of the university on the development of textbooks and teaching aids for studying the languages of the CIS countries. She said that the preparation of such materials was of great importance in the educational and methodological plan, and that it also contributed to the coordination of cooperation in the CIS countries, since the authors of the textbooks were all specialists from these states.

Director of the Institute of History of St. Petersburg State University, Dr. Daudov, spoke of the need for active development and implementation of teaching aids for citizensof the CIS countries, intensification of work in such areas as competitions for youth of the CIS countries and tourist activities.

Vice-Rector of the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language, Dr. Gorbatova, spoke about the implementation ofthe Institute's projects in the field of cooperation with the CIS countries.

Vice-Rector for Research of the Maksim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, Dr. Feklistova, spoke about thelatest methodological developments of BSPU, the preparationof textbooks together with colleagues from the CIS countries for children with special needs, and the organization of extracurricular work.

Dr. Lubkov, Rector of Moscow State Pedagogical University,spoke in detail about the issues of interaction between Moscow Pedagogical State University and colleagues from the Commonwealth countries in the field of pedagogical education, and outlined the need to preserve the traditional achievements of the Soviet school in the field of pedagogy.Dr. Levchenkov, Assistant Professor of RSUH, spoke and described the active work of RSUH as a basic organization.

The following experts spoke on behalf of the Slavic universities of the CIS countries:

  • Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Belarusian-Russian University, Dr. Vologina;
  • Associate Professor of the Department of History of KRSU, Dr. Ploskikh;
  • Lecturer of RAU, Dr. Babukhanyan;
  • Representative of RTSU, Dr. Mukhidino

They spoke about the work of Slavic universities taking into account the specifics of each university, about interaction with RSUH, shared plans for projects included in the programs of activities for the next year, as well as proposals for the implementation of the Concept of Formation of a Single (Common) Educational Space of the Commonwealth.Vice-Rector of Urgench State Pedagogical Institute, Dr. Abdullaev, and Head of the Department of the Modern History of Uzbekistan of the Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical University, Dr. Tilabaev, presented information on the activities of historians of Uzbekistan to strengthen the foundations of a common liberal arts space.

Following the meeting, all participants agreed to formulate proposals to be included in the program for the implementation of the Concept of Formation, as well as to determine measures to strengthen information interaction in the areas of work of basic organizations and Slavic universities.
