RSUH took part in the III Forum of the Federation of Rectors of Russian and Arab Universities

On May 31 - June 1, 2023, the University of Sharjah (UAE) hosted the Third Forum of the Federation of Rectors of Russian and Arab Universities, organized by the Russian Union of Rectors (Russia), Lomonosov Moscow State University (Russia), the Association of Arab Universities and the University of Sharjah (UAE).

The Forum is a key event in the academic and educational cooperation between Russia and the Arab world. It was co-chaired by Dr. Sadovnichy, President of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of Moscow State University, and President of the Association of Arab Universities, Professor Amr Ezzat Salama.

The format of the event corresponds to the vector of priority development of relations with the countries of the Global South, especially the Middle East. The Forum was attended by about 200 rectors and representatives of leading universities in Russia and the Arab world, as well as the executives of the Ministries of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Oman, Sudan and Libya.

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, welcomed the Forum participants. In his speech, Rector Sadovnichiy, on behalf of the Russian delegation, thanked the leaders of the Emirate of Sharjah and the University of Sharjah for the warm welcome and impeccable organization of the event.

The Forum became the largest of the three: more than 150 universities of Russia and the countries of the League of Arab States took part in its work.

The work of the Forum was held in the format of plenary and session sessions on the following topics: "Strategies for inter-university academic cooperation and youth interaction programs in the field of professional training, joint events and sports programs: the experience of Russian and Arab universities", "Joint research between Russian and Arab universities: planning joint academic programs”, “Academic accreditation, quality of education and international academic rating of Arab and Russian universities”. RSUH was represented by Dr. Zabotkina, Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation.

Also, an exchange of cooperation agreements between RSUH and the Egyptian-Russian University took place.
