Round table "Commentary as a way of understanding the oral text inside and outside the folklore tradition" held at RSUH

The event was held April 20, 2023, organized by the Center for Typology and Semiotics of Folklore of RSUH.

The topic of the Table did not become relevant until recently. It is a part of a communicatively oriented study of a folklore text, and many research-related questions were raised for the first time. Leading scholars and young researchers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ulyanovsk, Sukhum (Abkhazia) shared their opinions and observations.

The main topics discussed during the event were: commentary as part of the publicarion of folklore texts and a research tool in folklore studies, commentary as a speech genre with its boundaries and parameters, manifestation of personality of the speaker in the commentary.
