"It is a pleasure to note that the mutually beneficial partnership between Iran and Russia is currently developing very successfully, and our meeting is a good contribution to the development of relations between the two countries. Today, we are hosting a delegation from Imam Sadiq University, which serves as a training ground for key government structures in Iran," stated First Vice-Rector of RSUH, Dmitry Bobrov.
On March 5, a meeting took place between the leadership of RSUH and a delegation from Imam Sadiq University to discuss cooperation between the two universities. Topics of discussion included the development of graduate programs, the organization of joint seminars and conferences, and the potential for joint international academic publications. The parties also explored the possibility of organizing summer schools.
The Vice-Rector for Research and Technologies at Imam Sadiq University, Morteza Salmannejad, emphasized the importance of strategic cooperation between the universities and expressed hope for the successful implementation of planned joint projects and activities. Dr. Salmannejad praised the high level of education at RSUH, particularly in Russian language programs for international students, and proposed the implementation of a joint course on Iranian studies.
Special attention was given to the role of theology in university programs. RSUH's Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Pavel Shkarenkov, mentioned that in 2025, RSUH had established the Institute of the History of Religion and Spiritual Culture based on the Center for the Study of Religions.
"Over the past 20 years, theology in the Russian Federation has gained significant academic and research status, and RSUH is one of the leading universities offering a theology program," stated Dr. Shkarenkov, highlighting the extensive experience of Imam Sadiq University in this field.
On February 28, 2024, in Tehran, the 17th session of the Permanent Russian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place. Following the meeting, RSUH and Imam Sadiq University signed a protocol of intent. RSUH's participation in the commission was represented by the Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Vera Zabotkina.
