On May 25, 2023, faculty and students of the Department of Oriental Languages of the Institute of Linguistics of RSUH and the Confucius Institute of RSUH visited the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art for the presentation of the collection of documents “Soviet-Chinese Cultural Relations. 1949–1960".
The Archive spearheaded the preparation of the collection, in the work on which specialists from seven Russian and two Chinese archives joined their efforts. The documents selected for the collection highlight the main areas of cultural interaction between the USSR and the PRC from 1949 to 1960. Dr. Shashkova spoke about the long and difficult process of working on the publication.
Dr. Bodrova, Head of the Department for the Publication of Historical Documents, spoke about the significant scientific and reference apparatus of the collection.
Dr. Verchenko, consultant, academic editor and translator from Chinese of the materials of the collection, researcher at the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the RAS, spoke about the difficulties that the authors of the collection had faced when working with documents in both Russian and Chinese.
After answering questions and discussing, the guests toured the exhibition "The Theater of the Revolution of the Soviet Era: to the 100th Season of the Vladimir Mayakovsky Moscow Academic Theatre".
