The first phase of the professional development program “Historical Research and the Modern Information Space” has concluded.
The training program was implemented as part of an interdisciplinary humanities project at RSUH. Its main objective is to explore the interpretation and representation of Russian history in modern information environments such as social and traditional media.
The 72-hour online course included lectures on topics such as history of modern Russia, information security and digital sovereignty of the Russian Federation, public history, scientific mythology, and the falsification of documentary sources.
Additionally, the RSUH Institute of History and Archives and the Institute of Information Sciences and Technology Security plan to launch a Historical Portal of RSUH. It will support collaboration between students, faculty and researchers, while also fostering dialogue with the broader public.
The development strategy for history education at RSUH today involves collaboration among a wide range of humanities departments and institutes. It also prioritizes building students’ competencies in expert-level analysis within the modern information space and in the professional assessment of historical content on social media.
