RSUH is sad to announce that on January 10, 2025, at the age of seventy-six, Vladimir Kozlov passed away. He was a Russian historian, archaeographer, archivist, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professor of the Department of Archival Science of the Faculty of Archival Science and Records Management, chief researcher of the Center "New Russia. History of Post-Soviet Russia" of the Department of History of RSUH.
Dr. Kozlov made an invaluable contribution to the development of theory and methodology of archival science, document theory, source studies. He was an outstanding organizer of archival affairs: for more than 10 years (1996-2009) he headed the Archival Service of the country (Rosarkhiv). Dr. Kozlov trained many talented students: historians, archivists, document specialists. Since 2010, he was an Honored Professor of RSUH.
