RSUH regrets to announce the passing of Galina Mikhaleva, an outstanding scholar, RSUH professor and public and political figure, at the age of 69 after a prolonged illness.
The RSUH community would like to extend sincere condolences to Dr. Mikhaleva’s family, friends, colleagues, and students. We have lost not only a talented researcher and educator but also a person who dedicated her life to the development of science, education and public dialogue.
Dr. Mikhaleva made invaluable contributions to the study of party systems, political transformation in Russia, and gender policy. She worked for many years at the UNESCO Chair on Peace and Democracy, focusing on issues of peacebuilding, democracy, and human rights. Her works became a significant milestone in both Russian and international political science.
