In an era of change, when the concept of human rights is undergoing rethinking, RSUH presented in Tashkent a scholarly work offering new approaches to one of the key topics of modern times.
On October 2, within the framework of a visit to Uzbekistan by a delegation led by Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Academic Director of the Institute of Heritage and Contemporary Society of RSUH Valery Fadeev, the presentation of the collective monograph “From the Past to the Future: Human Rights in the Modern World” took place at the House of Human Rights in Tashkent.
He also noted that in the West the doctrine of human rights is increasingly being used as a tool of pressure and interference in the internal affairs of other countries, which leads to the discrediting of the very idea of rights and freedoms.
The publication became the result of a large-scale study dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In addition, during the presentation, RSUH analyst Yulia Sukhorukova reported that, based on the results of the research, an interactive educational module on human rights had been created.
Also, during the event, Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov emphasized the importance of legal literature for the development of legal awareness and legal culture among citizens and announced the opening of a special “Russia and Human Rights” exhibition in the House of Human Rights.
The monograph and educational module are available for free download in Russian and English via a link.
