Speaking about the role of studying history and local history in patriotic education of the younger generation and the steps of RSUH in this direction.
On December 10, Associate Professor of the Center of Regional History and Moscow Studies of RSUH Irina Azernikova took part in the discussion "The Role of Local History and Regional History in Patriotic Education. Issues and Tasks" in the International Multimedia Press Center "Russia Today".
She spoke about the important role that Russian history and local history played in the patriotic education of youth, and what RSUH was doing in this regard.
Knowing the history of your region is very important for the formation of patriotic consciousness among young people, so RSUH has developed special courses “Laboratory of Historical and Local History Research” and “Digital Media in Historical Research”, and has been implementing the “Historical Media School” project for the third year in a row, designed to build communication among young people from all regions of Russia.
As Dr. Azernikova notes, working at the intersection of historical local history and media will allow young people not only to better understand the history of their native land and their region, but will also lead them to understand the diversity of Russian cultural forms and, in many ways, fulfill society’s demand for knowledge of their own and regional history. In addition, the media project “Novorossiya. Russian Frontier” was presented at the Table.
