The winning centers will be established in priority areas of academic and technological development, as determined by the Decree of the President of Russia.
Their work will focus on the development, advancement, and introduction of key high-tech solutions into the economy, contributing to the implementation of national technological leadership projects.
“A competitive selection of academic centers has begun in Russia. At least ten such centers, both the new and those operating since 2020, will receive support. Each center will be eligible for a subsidy of up to 320 million rubles annually. This will create conditions for the development of advanced domestic technologies and their rapid implementation in production, as recently emphasized by President Putin,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Valery Falkov, said:
“Particular attention in the implementation of the centers is paid to attracting young specialists. In these centers, they have the opportunity to lead research projects, which undoubtedly motivates talented young people to engage in science. For example, 38% of the research conducted at NCMUs was led by researchers under the age of 39,” the Minister added.
Applications are open until April 4, 2025. Competition documentation is available on the website.
