RSUH is expanding its educational reach eastward: discussing prospects for cooperation with Southeast University of the People's Republic of China, academic mobility and expertise.
RSUH pays special attention to international cooperation, and establishing partnerships with China in education is one of the University’s priorities. On February 18, Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at RSUH, Vera Zabotkina, met with Professor Yuan Tao from Southeast University to discuss prospects for joint work between the two institutions. The meeting was also attended by Igor Sharonov, Head of the Department of Russian Language at RSUH, Olga Trofimova, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, and Andrey Sorokin, Director of the Center New Russia: History of Post-Soviet Russia.
The participants discussed the possibility of concluding a cooperation agreement between RSUH and Southeast University. The start of joint work is planned for September 2025.
Additionally, Professor Yuan Tao requested that RSUH send a Russian language specialist to Southeast University for exchange of experience and consultation on research.
Vera Zabotkina also proposed student academic mobility between RSUH and Southeast University.
"We are very interested in cooperation. It is possible to conclude an additional agreement on student academic mobility. Your students will be able to come to RSUH for advanced training," said Dr. Zabotkina.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Zabotkina presented Professor Yuan Tao with a commemorative gift and invited her on a tour of the University’s museum complex, where the exhibition 瓷烤炉: An Unusual Order by Peter I in China is currently being held. The exhibition is based on a little-known historical fact about Peter I’s order of ceramic stoves from China.
