“Corruption is a threat to national security. Corruption is based on greed, avarice, abuse of power for the sake of material gain and other vices. It is impossible to completely eradicate corruption in any country in the world, but we are faced with the task of minimizing this evil,” said Anatoly Vyborny at a meeting at the RSUH.
On December 3, Anatoly Vyborny, Duma deputy and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, held a meeting with students of the Faculty of Law and faculty of RSUH, where he discussed the development of anti-corruption legislation and the opportunities for young people in management.
In 2008, Russia faced the issue of the need to minimize corruption crimes. At that time, our country adopted the federal law “On Combating Corruption”, a political decision that gave rise to the work of the anti-corruption mechanism. The deputy noted that today the emphasis was on personnel policy: the hiring process is restricted to specialists who know the law and abide by it, relying on the principles of legality, validity and fairness in their decisions:
"A person may not know all the laws by heart, not understand how law enforcement practices work, but he must be sensitive to fairness and act according to conscience. The register of corrupt officials runs like clockwork: once a reputation is tarnished, a person loses it for the rest of his life," said Anatoly Vyborny.
Students of the Faculty of Law joined the discussion of issues of building a future and a career without corruption. Among the issues that worried the students were incentives for whistle blowers in corruption cases, bringing accomplices of criminal schemes to justice, the current corruption situation in the military-industrial complex, and a comparison of Russian and international experience.
"Such meetings are a great opportunity to find the best answers to the most difficult questions. And most importantly, to ensure that the younger generation acts according to the law and conscience. After all, the most effective mechanism for defeating corruption is to renounce this evil,” concluded Anatoly Vyborny.
