History and Modernity: Historical UN Model Kicks Off at RSUH

On February 17, the 17th Moscow International Historical Model UN 2025 began at RSUH, aiming to accurately recreate the work of the main UN bodies and specialized agencies within schools and universities.

Vasily Khristoforov, Director of the Institute of International Relations and Political Science, addressed the participants:

"In 2025, we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War, and at the same time, 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the creation of the United Nations," he noted, emphasizing the importance of studying the history of international relations and continuing research on the UN's creation and functioning.”

The Academic Director of the Model UN RSUH, Associate Professor Vadim Trukhachev, expressed gratitude to the event organizers and highlighted the uniqueness of the Model as a combination of a conference, role-playing game, and historical immersion.

"The Model will help participants to better understand the structure of international relations and allow them to embody the mindset and way of life of people from entirely different civilizations," said the expert.

At the end of discussion, participants worked in committees: the Security Council, UNESCO, and the Human Rights Committee.

The Moscow International Historical Model UN RSUH is a unique representative of the model movement in Russia. Participants not only discuss modern global issues but also study historical questions that have already been resolved, presenting alternative ways of settlement.
