International Conference "Transcendental Turn in Modern Philosophy"

On April 22, the Faculty of Philosophy of RSUH hosted the International Conference "Transcendental Turn in Modern Philosophy - 8: Metaphysics, Epistemology, Transcendental Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence".

The Conference was co-organized by GAUGN, RUDN and the Center for Research in Humanities. The event was attended by colleagues from Germany, Austria, Israel, Uzbekistan, as well as from more than 10 subjects of the Russian Federation.

The section “Transcendental Phenomenology: Ontology or/and Epistemology”, raised the questions about the specifics of Kant’s and Husserl’s studies, about the understanding of the mental and physical in transcendentalism, about the deep layers of consciousness within the framework of Husserl’s genetic phenomenology, various interpretations of phenomenological methodology.

Dr. Molchanov expressed the opinion that for Kant, cognitive ability had acted exclusively as a processing activity, and that had not allow him to pay due attention to the very source material of knowledge: whether it be consciousness or the world.

Dr. Belousov drew attention to the fact that Kant's ontology was exclusively an ontology of nature.

Dr. Artemenko spoke about the phenomenological studies of the deep layers of consciousness, including syntheses that were absent in Kant's philosophy.

The round table "Reflection as part of cognitive activity" focused on reflection as a methodological tool and means of philosophical research.
