On October 13, 2023, the III Forum of Rectors of Universities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation was held at Osh State University. The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Association of Universities of the Kyrgyz Republic, Osh State University, the Russian Union of Rectors, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Moscow State University
The heads of relevant ministries and over 80 university rectors of the two countries met at the Forum.
The program included a plenary session and three panel sessions, at which participants discussed the key areas of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the educational and academic spheres, issues of joint training and integration of the education systems of Kyrgyzstan and Russia as part of the development of Eurasian integration and the creation of a unified educational process.
RSUH was represented by Vice-Rector Zabotkina. She took part in the panel session “Science and Innovation in Modern Universities” and gave a presentation “Digital Humanities: Experience of RSUH”.
At the plenary session, welcoming speeches were delivered by Dogdurkul Kenderbaeva, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Igor Maslov, Head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries.
The Forum hosted a ceremony of exchange of bilateral agreements on cooperation between RSUH, Zhusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University and Kasym Tynystanov Issyk-Kul State University.
The Forum adopted the Resolution which noted the interest of both countries in expanding interuniversity projects in the field of academic mobility, and development and of joint educational programs.
