Development of the International Russian-Arab Center, creation of a gymnasium with advanced language studies, cooperation with the Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities in the UAE.
On November 25, RSUH executives met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation to discuss issues of cooperation.
"The potential of our University in terms of humanities and social sciences is the most important in Russia. Therefore, RSUH has been given a strategically important task: to debug the liberal arts paradigm in the country," said Acting Rector Loginov.
Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Russian Federation, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed S. E. Al Jaber, said that RSUH and the Emirates universities had great opportunities for student exchange, cooperation in higher education, joint research projects and mutual recognition of educational programs.
Acting Rector Loginov said that in December, RSUH was planning to open an International Russian-Arab Center. He noted that RSUH considered it necessary to focus on the study of foreign languages. However, it is important to understand that it is not enough to create two, five or ten schools with Arabic language instruction or two or three Arabic classes. Education must be consistent, so that afterwards students can continue it in the United Arab Emirates or any other Arab country.
"Today, RSUH wants to ensure this continuity. I think we willdevelop proposals in this area for implementation in educational programs on a national scale,” said the Acting Rector.
As one of the steps towards this kind of education, a full-fledged gymnasium is planned to be formed at RSUH, the educational foundation of which will be the study of Latin, Ancient Greek, and one European or Oriental language.
“At RSUH, many students from the UAE study Russian and international relations, and all our students feel comfortable and positive within the walls of the university,” said Mr. Mohammed Ahmed S. E. Al Jaber.
Also, the Ambassador made a proposal to establish close cooperation between RSUH and the Mohammed bin Zayed University, since, in his opinion, the two universities have a “common core”: they are both engaged in the humanities and are developing in the same direction. The proposal was approved by the Russian side.
By the end of the meeting, at least three vectors for developing cooperation with the UAE were outlined:
