Fifth session of the seminar "Cultural Heritage and the Politics of Memory in International Relations in the 21st Century"

On March 20, the fifth session of the seminar “Cultural Heritage and the Politics of Memory in International Relations in the 21st Century” was held on the topic “Memory of Violence as an Instrument of International Policy”

The head of the seminar, Professor of the Department of Foreign Area Studies and Foreign Policy Dr. Guzenkova, said that one of the important elements of modern collective memory was attention to negative past. It is believed that if a country seeks to overcome a difficult past and become a legitimate political actor on the international stage, it cannot do so without a mechanism for memorializing violence.
