A lecture on the cooperation between RSUH and KSPU, the importance of proper strategies for educating the new generation, historical memory, and patriotism.
"According to the decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, RSUH has been included in the list of educational institutions in Russia tasked with assisting educational institutions in the new territories in organizing educational, scientific, methodological, and instructional processes. In the near future, we will sign a cooperation agreement with Kherson State Pedagogical University," said Alexander Karaman, advisor to the Rector of RSUH, in his opening speech.
As part of the preparations for signing the cooperation agreement between RSUH and KSPU, an online lecture was held on March 13, 2025, the anniversary of Kherson's liberation from Nazi occupation. The lecture, titled "Two Eras, One Struggle: The Liberation of Kherson and Today’s Challenges", was delivered by Professor Igor Garkusha, a protopresbyter and faculty member at Kherson State Pedagogical University.
The lecture included a historical overview of the Great Patriotic War and an analysis of the reasons behind current events in the special military operation zone.
"I always tell my students that we must study history," noted Igor Garkusha, emphasizing the importance of learning from past mistakes rather than making new ones.
Using the events of Maidan as an example, the professor expressed his view that young people often served as the driving force of adversaries because their still-developing minds were more susceptible to ideological influence. He argued that a lack of historical knowledge and distorted perceptions of past events, caused by falsification of historical facts, had allowed neo-Nazism to survive and even grow despite the victory over Nazi Germany.
