From May 17 to May 29, 2023, Dr. Trushkina, Head of the cabinet-library of Academician Vyacheslav Ivanov, visited the Republic of Buryatia (Ulan-Ude) as part of an ethnographic expedition together with her colleague, Dr. Veronika Belyaeva-Sachuk, senior researcher at the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography .
The scholars took part in a number of academic events dedicated to the study of the Buryat and Buddhist culture, including the seminar "Traditional environmental ethics and its application in the modern world", which was organized by the East Siberian State University of Technology and Management jointly with the Buddhist University Dashi Choinkhorlin named after Damba Darzha Zayaev. They also visited the Institute of Mongolian Studies, Buddhology and Tibetology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the East Siberian Institute of Culture.
