On January 24, on the eve of Russian Student Day, a meeting was held between Acting Rector Andrei Loginov and the University executive body with representatives of RSUH student councils and associations.
Acting Rector Andrei Loginov congratulated RSUH students:
“We are engaged in education, that is, the creation of the independent person who will be fully responsible for his or her actions, contribute to the development of society, help others, start a family, confidently walk the path of life. Dear students, I wish you to maintain ties with your alma mater, carry them through your life and support our student brotherhood. Happy holiday!”
First Vice-Rector of RSUH Dmitry Bobrov said:
"I hope you that the difficulties that you encounter will only strengthen your character, and your spirit will give you the strength to win. I am sure that the knowledge and experience that you acquire at our University will not only be useful to you in life, but will help you to further develop as an individual and a worthy citizen of our country."
The top five student associations included United Student Council, the RGGU.LIVE student media center, Volunteer Center, Dormitory Student Council, and Poetry Circle. Among the student councils, the associations of the Department of History, the Department of Archival Science and Documentation, the Department of Advertising and Public Relations, the Department of Law, the Department of Oriental Studies and the Department Social and Communication Sciences were also mentioned.
The meeting was also attended by Semyon Avdanin, a participant in the Special Military Operation, a 2nd-year student of the Department of Philosophy. The guests from the Volunteer Company "Combat Brotherhood"" presented Semyon with his portrait as a gift and expressed gratitude for helping the Fatherland.
Special commendation was received by Vladislav Kraft, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Law, for participating in the competition "Miss and Mister Moscow Student". Vladislav represented RSUH in the finals of the Competition. Irakli Bolkvadze expressed gratitude to Elizaveta Stogniy, a 3rd -year student of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, for her active work as Head of the "Victory Volunteers at RSUH" movement, who was recently awarded the "Moscow Volunteer" badge of distinction by Mayor Sobyanin.
Let us recall that in 1755, Empress Elizaveta Petrovna signed a decree on the founding of Moscow University. The date was January 25 – the day of the Holy Virgin Martyr Tatiana of Rome. Since then, Saint Tatiana has been regarded as the patroness of Russian students.
