On June 8, a meeting between the University executives and a delegation from Brazil took place at RSUH. The topics under discussion were prospects for interaction, potential joint projects in the field of education and science, academic mobility and double degree programs. Both sides expressed confidence that cooperation would help strengthen the scientific potential of both countries.

The meeting was attended by Rector Bezborodov, Vice-Rector Pavel Shkarenkov, Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Vera Zabotkina, and others.

The Brazilian delegation consisted of Sr. Rui Vicento Oppermann, Director of International Cooperation of CAPES, Dr. Jacqueline Pinheiro Schultz, Advisor to the Ministry of Education of Brazil, Dr. Gustavo Brechesi Servilha, Coordinator of the Ministry of Education of Brazil.

Rector Bezborodov greeted the Brazilian guests, introduced his colleagues and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the academic communities of the two countries:

We are very willing to cooperate with Brazil; in recent years, a lot has been done to develop it. The International Russian-Brazilian Center has been opened at our University. Students and teachers of RSUH have had the opportunity to become immersed in the culture and history of this wonderful country by taking part in a series of events dedicated to the Days of Brazil at RSUH. Cooperation in the field of education and science is one of the key areas of interaction between our states.”

Acting Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Vera Zabotkina made a presentation in which she highlighted the main areas of activity of RSUH, spoke about the structure of the University, the uniqueness of its faculties and institutes, and the international projects being implemented at RSUH, including those done jointly with educational institutions in Brazil.
