"The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation plans to continue paying special attention to history in the media space, support the new and the existing media projects, look for young and talented people in this area," says Andrei Frizen, Deputy Director of the Department of Information Policy and Comprehensive Security of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
On December 13, the press center of the international media group "Russia Today" hosted a press conference "Modern Historical Internet Space: Development Prospects and Fight Against Fakes", dedicated to the Historical Media School 2024 that had been held in Kazan, and other projects implemented by RSUH with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
The event discussed youth historical projects and countering false information on the Internet. Dean of the Department of History of RSUH Elena Barysheva spoke about the features and tasks of the School, which include popularizing historical knowledge among young people and creating a communication platform for students and representatives of the student media. She also noted the growing popularity of this project among both students and teachers from all over the country. For example, this year over 300 applications were submitted to participate in the School. Coordinator of the Youth Club of the Russian Historical Society Ivan Kulakov reported on the already known projects of the Historical Media School, which are gaining popularity online.
A new media project was also presented: electronic annotated bibliographic index “Russian Spring in Donbass and the Special Military Operation”, containing information about the events of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the “Russian Spring” in Ukraine in 2014, the conflict in Donbass and the Special Military Operation.
