On October 31, 2023, the Academic Council decided to open the Center for the History of Russian Science and Scientific and Technological Development at RSUH
The Сenter was created in accordance with the instruction of President Putin dated March 6, 2023, following the meeting with participants of the II Congress of Young Scholars and students of the program for the development of personnel management reserve in the field of science and education on December 1, 2022. RSUH was represented by Dr. Dolgova, professor of the Faculty of History. In her speech, she said: “The initiated decade of science and technology is a megaproject. It must be accompanied by a scientific project. <…> I ask you to support the expansion of the presence of the history of science in educational practice”. Having approved the initiative of the RSUH professor, the President of Russia instructed the Government of the Russian Federation to submit proposals for the creation of science centers in universities and scientific organizations in order to study the history of science and scientific and technological development. A pilot project will be implemented at RSUH.
The focus of the Center's research is the study and popularization of the history of Russian science, considered in the context of the influence of significant events in the country's national history and global trends in the world academic and technological development. The Center will become a platform for interaction and joint research of the representatives of various academic schools involved in understanding the problems of the history of Russian science and the scientific and technological development of the country. Students and young scholars will be involved in its work; the vector of popularization will unite those interested in the history of Russian science and the scientific and technological development of the country.
