A strategic session “Computer games as a tool for forming value guidelines” was held at RSUH

On August 21, a strategic session “Computer games as a tool for forming value guidelines” was held, at which issues such as the development of the gaming industry in Russia and in the world and training of personnel for the development of computer games were discussed

The event was opened by Valery Fadeev, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Academic Director of the Institute of Heritage and Modern Society of RSUH. “Games are part of a larger information environment, which consists of many meaningful value-related ideas,” he emphasized.

Nikolai Lishin, Deputy Head of the Information Systems at the Department of the Russian Ministry of Defense, made a presentation on the influence of games on patriotic education.

Evgenia Ryzhova, Advisor to the General Director for Academic and Technical Development of the General Radio Frequency Center, said: “The game can become a means for selecting and training personnel. It can carry education and upbringing elements, influence feelings and emotions. The game is a part of politics; it develops technology, the technological independence of the state.”

Mikhail Levin, Head of the Psychiatric Service of City Clinical Hospital No. 67, made a presentation on the psychological dependence of children on games and methods of combating it.

Dr. Emil Melikov, Head of the Analytical Department of Kribrum, spoke about how video games form value guidelines.

Game designer Sergei Burtakovsky spoke on propaganda in games.

Dr. Marina Onoprienko, Vice-Rector for Intercultural Communications and Integration of Lugansk State Academy of Culture and Arts, shared her personal experience in developing scripts for video games with patriotic content.

Albina Dudareva, Acting Director of the Institute of Heritage and Modern Society of RSUH, spoke about the project to recruit personnel for the development of video games.

Dr. Ilya Yaskov, Deputy Vice-Rector of the Higher School of Economics, shared his experience of organizing training in the field of gaming environment.
