On November 14, a meeting was held between the authorities and students of RSUH with representatives of the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the Russian Federation.
The organizers were RSUH and the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The event was attended by Rector Bezborodov and other representatives of the University, including faculty and students.
The event was attended by His Excellency Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Russian Federation, Mr. Andre Ripple, Head of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the Russian Federation and Mr. Carlos Suzuki de Amorim, Head of the Department of Culture, Education, Media and Public Diplomacy of the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Russia.
The event dedicated to the presentation of the Cinema Club project was opened by Dr. Bezborodov. He mentioned that these days one of the global guidelines for Russia's foreign policy was interaction with the countries of the Latin American continent.
His Excellency Rodrigo de Lima Baena Soares stressed that Russian universities were showing interest in Brazil. “Russian State University for the Humanities works closely with the Embassy in promoting the culture of Brazil and the Brazilian version of the Portuguese language. It is a great pleasure for me to return to RSUH, where today we are showing a Brazilian movie for the first time,” he said.
As part of visit, students and teachers watched the film "Simonal", directed by Leonardo Dominguez. It had been the winner in four categories of the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro 2020 dedicated to the life and work of the singer Wilson Simonal de Castro.
