At the photo exhibition “Heritage of the Karelian Village”, visitors can observe many forms of educational, cultural and ethnographic work carried out within the Gafostrov Village project by the Foundation for the Support of Academic, Educational and Cultural Initiatives.
The study of the traditional way of life of the Karelian village is one of the areas of this activity which had a practical dimension.
At three workshops, which were held by Ms. Alena Alyokhina, a participant in the Gafostrov Village project, faculty and students of RSUH decorated fabric using ancient techniques and creating original compositions.
The participants were given ready-made prints, made with laser cutting technology and traditional woodcarved presses made by Finnish craftsmen and participants in the summer workshops of the Gafostrov Village project.
The event was organized by the Museum Center of RSUH and the Foundation for the Support of Academic, Educational and Cultural Initiatives. The exhibition will be open until October 5.
